I just got back from the most amazing trip to Paris with my husband and I got so many questions via Instagram that I decided it would be easier to share all of the details here.

FLIGHTS + THINGS TO KNOW
First off, let me say that upgrading your flight at the airport gate is not always the best bet. We ended up upgrading to exit row seating for more room, but the upgrades we wanted were over $3k per person at the gate and would have been much cheaper if we did it online initially. So, make sure to plan ahead and check online for any flight upgrades you may want before you get to the airport.
The time difference (about 8 hours) and jet lag are real, so plan for some down time to rest during your trip. On the third day we stayed in bed almost all day so that we could function and enjoy the back half of our trip. Also, keep in mind that the American dollar is worth less than the euro right now, SO things aren’t necessarily cheaper in Paris. Plus, during this time of year (and most of the year in general) it rains almost daily, so make sure to pack accordingly. WHAT TO DO
Now, onto the fun stuff! We visited one of the fashion museums, the YSL museum, and it was definitely worth it. The cost was around €20 and the exhibit was filled with amazing pieces from YSL’s collection. The only con was that the museum was a bit small.
We also visited the Louvre Museum, which was absolutely amazing. The cost was €17 and we got a guided tour for an additional €15. The tour was long, but it was definitely worth it because our guide was so knowledgeable and we got to see all of the most popular pieces. I highly recommend doing the tour with a guide!
If you are a fashion girl like myself, you will want to spend a day shopping at Galleria Lafayette it’s heaven for any fashion lover. The Galleria is huge so be prepared to do a lot of walking. After shopping, head over to the Basilica Sacred Heart where couples go and put their lock on the gate, which is super romantic.
We also saw the Moulin Rouge show, which was a bit pricey at around €400, but it was worth it. The seating was tight and the show did have nudity (FYI), but it was presented in an artistic way.
WHERE TO EAT
When it came to food, we ate at Cesars Paris Restaurant, which had amazing food but not-so-great service. For the absolute best view of the Eiffel Tower, we went to Les Ombres, but the food wasn’t the best. However, we did find a great spot for croissants and afternoon cappuccinos at Happy Caffe. The service was amazing and everything was delicious. If you are looking for a little night life action, we found a cozy speakeasy called Candelaria that had exceptional craft cocktails!
Overall, this was the perfect vacation with a good balance of fun and rest, luxury and chill. By far the best vacation we have taken together thus far. I highly recommend Paris to anyone who wants to experience the beauty of the city and immerse themselves in the culture. Bon voyage!
