Summer is officially here, and while I’m skipping the rosé this year, I’m still raising a glass! Being pregnant doesn’t mean giving up rooftop drinks, it just means getting a little more creative with what’s in the glass.
After trying endless mocktails this year this is my go-to mocktails for summer. They’re refreshing, easy to make, and not too sweet..which is my personal preference in a mocktail. Let me know which one is your favorite!
1. Spicy Pineapple Ginger Spritz
Perfect for taco night or a backyard hang.
1/2 cup pineapple juice
1/4 cup ginger beer
2-3 jalapeño slices
Squeeze of lime
This one ended up being my second favorite—the sweet and spicy mix was just right, and it wasn’t overly sweet like some mocktails can be. Super refreshing, especially with the kick from the jalapeños!
2. Blackberry Mint Smash
Muddle, pour, sip. Simple and chic.
1/4 cup fresh blackberries
4-5 mint leaves
1 tbsp lemon juice
1/2 cup sparkling water
I’ll be honest—this one was a bit harder to sip with the muddled blackberries, so it wasn’t my personal favorite. But if you’re in the mood for something with fresh fruit and a little texture, it’s still a fun option to try!
3. Cucumber Basil Cooler
3 cucumber slices
2-3 basil leaves
Juice of 1/2 lime
1/2 cup club soda
This one was the most refreshing by far. If you’re someone who loves seltzers like White Claw or Truly, you’ll definitely be into this. Light, crisp, and perfect for hot summer days.
4. Sauvignon blanc and Jalapeño Mocktail
1/2 cup non-alcoholic Wine
2-3 frozen Jalapeños
This one surprised me—in the best way. The non-alcoholic Sauvignon Blanc I used is hands-down the most convincing I’ve found so far. It smells and tastes like the real thing, which I love. Just a note: if you use frozen jalapeños, the spice won’t hit right away—it kicks in more as they thaw. A perfect slow-sipper for summer evenings.
5. Grapefruit Jalapeño Paloma (Zero-Proof)
A bold twist on a summer favorite.
1/2 cup grapefruit juice
1/4 cup zero-proof tequila (like Ritual or Free Spirits)
2 slices frozen jalapeños
Splash of non-alcoholic white wine (like Leitz Eins Zwei Zero)
Sparkling water to top
Optional: salt rim + grapefruit wedge garnish
This one was my top pick. It’s the perfect blend of citrusy flavor and subtle spice—super balanced and not too sweet. I used Ritual’s zero-proof tequila, which has become my go-to for mocktails. It adds just the right bite and really pulls the whole drink together.
These are perfect for baby showers, cookouts, or just an evening in. And even after baby arrives, I plan to keep a few of these in rotation. Because why not?! Keep them in mind as you sip your way through summer..mocktail in one hand, bump (or baby!) in the other. Cheers to savoring the season, one glass at a time.
