I’m excited to finally get this post up and share the weekend my sister and I had on our second annual sisters’ trip in Nashville! The whole annual sisters’ trip idea started after we took a trip to Miami last year and realized how important it is to have uninterrupted time together. Over the years, life gets busier, so we’ve made it a point to be intentional about spending quality time annually. Anyway, here is the rundown of our weekend…
Friday: A Seamless Start
We kicked things off on Friday morning with an easy three-hour drive from Kentucky (for my sister) and Georgia (for me) to Nashville. It’s important for me to call out the evolution of this city, once just the country music capital. It immediately surprised us with how it has evolved into a diverse place with so many elevated experiences.
When we got into the city, we grabbed lunch at Restoration Hardware, a ‘girl dinner’ dream of a restaurant connected to the Green Hills Mall. With that being said, shopping immediately followed. They’ve got a healthy mix of high-end and contemporary stores in Green Hills Mall. A true shopping win!
Most of the places we wanted to go and things we were interested in were located in the Gulch, which made our hotel, W Nashville, a centrally located gem. We got checked in and stopped by the hotel’s rooftop bar, Proof, which has gorgeous city views. After a little R&R, we headed to dinner at STK, a no-brainer—great drinks, vibes, and food! If you have never tried the spiced watermelon drink at STK, go ahead and add it to your list!
Saturday: Rooftop Revelry and Relaxation
Saturday started off with brunch at Sambuca, where we literally sang our hearts out to the live music. The artists mostly sing cover songs and even take requests. We absolutely requested Whitney Houston and put those vocals to the test, haha. As far as food recommendations go, the shrimp and grits and seafood dip were both 10/10. Post-brunch bliss led us to the Woodhouse Spa for some R&R. I’ve never heard a single bad thing about Woodhouse Spa, and for good reason! After a few day drinks and a massage, dinner came down to room service, Wendy Williams, and zero regrets. That’s the beauty of traveling with the right people—no pressure to be out and about every second.
Sunday: Lip Lab and Farewell Bites
Sunday morning started with breakfast at Milk and Honey, a hop, skip, and a jump (walking distance) from the hotel because we are still trying to get our 10K steps in even on vacation, right? lol. Here, we split the chicken and waffles and the sausage and peppers omelet. If I had to pick one, it would be the chicken and waffles.
Our grand finale? The Lip Lab! Making custom lip glosses and lipsticks was hands down the highlight. You haven’t lived until you’ve created your own nude lipstick, trust me!
Nashville has definitely earned a top spot on my travel list after this trip. If you haven’t been in a while, it’s well worth the revisit or first-time visit. Naturally, we have already started throwing around destination ideas for our trip next year, welcoming all ideas: Where should we go?
