Tonight’s post is for my fellow wine enthusiasts and seekers of a perfect girls’ day! I don’t think I have mentioned it on here too many times, but I am originally from North Carolina and went back this past weekend to celebrate the 4th of July with my family. While there, I planned a girls’ day at a local vineyard with a few friends. I wasn’t expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised by the experience we had at Childress Vineyards. This charming winery is located in Lexington, North Carolina, and not only offers a healthy selection of wines but also provides a photo-worthy atmosphere that will make you question if you are in North Carolina or Napa Valley (after a few glasses, of course, lol).
We arrived at the vineyard around 12:30 in the afternoon and began our day in the tasting room, where we comfortably had lunch away from the summer heat and enjoyed everything from crisp whites to bold reds. They also had other non-wine cocktails for guests who prefer them. The food was a 7/10 – nothing overly amazing but definitely nothing to complain about. After a few sips, we were ready to take full advantage of the photo ops, and they had so many; this place is truly gorgeous! *Picture yourself strolling through lush vineyards, soaking in the picturesque views, and sipping on delicious vintages.*
One of the things I loved most about this vineyard was that they had live music. I mean, as if we needed any more entertainment outside of endless wine with your girlfriends… but in case we did, they had it.
And let’s be honest, what’s a girls’ day without a few drink specials? Childress Vineyards really knows how to make your visit even more enjoyable with a daily drink special. On Wednesdays, you can indulge in their Wine Down Wednesday special, offering discounted glasses of select wines. Thursdays bring the refreshing Sangria Night, where you can savor their signature sangria blends. Fridays give a little extra razzle dazzle with the TGIF Happy Hour, featuring handcrafted cocktails to start the weekend on a high note.
Whether you are passing through the Carolinas or a native like myself, a visit to Childress Vineyards in Lexington, NC, is a must. Sip on their wines, soak in the relaxed ambiance, and enjoy the live music performances. It’s an experience that will leave you and your girlfriends feeling rejuvenated and reconnected.
